SAMR & TPACK MODELS / MIRO MIND MAP TOOL

SAMR & TPACK MODELS

    Hello, wonderful readers! Today's spotlight is on models that seamlessly blend technology into lessons. Join me as we explore two key frameworks in this post: SAMR and TPACK. Ready to dive in? Let's continue our tech-integration journey together! 💻📚

What is TPACK?

    Tpack is a technology integrated model that identifies three types of knowledge instructors that is needed to combine for successful edtech integration—technological, pedagogical, and content knowledge.

    We can integrate technology into the content and pedagogy of our classrooms. The integration will help our students learn more effectively. We can choose technologies that will support the activity type and aid the students in learning. Different content concepts can be used for students who have different skill levels.

    ·These three types are;

1)Technological knowledge (TK): Teachers' knowledge and ability to use various technologies. Understanding edtech is important in TK.

2)Pedagogical Knowledge (PK): Teachers' knowledge of the practices, processes, and methods regarding teaching and learning. PK includes the purposes, values, and aims of education that should be considered in learning stages.

3)Content Knowledge (CK): Teachers' own knowledge of the subject matter. CK may include knowledge of concepts, theories, and evidence.

What is SAMR?

    The "SAMR" model stand for Substitution, The "SAMR" model stand for Augmentation, Modification, and Redefinition. The SAMR model was created to share a common language across disciplines and help students visualize complex concepts.

    ·“SAMR” means;

1) Substitution: The technology is directly substituted for a more traditional teaching tool or method.

2) Augmentation: The technology is directly substituted for a traditional tool or method, but with significant enhancement to the student experience.

3) Modification: This stage is an actual change to the lesson's design and its learning outcome instead of replacement or enhancement.

4) Redefinition: That stage represents how integrated classroom technology can transform to student’s experience.

CREATING A MINDMAP: EFFECTIVE WAY OF VISUALIZING LECTURES!

CREATING A MINDMAP: EFFECTIVE WAY OF VISUALIZING LECTURES!

    Hey, awesome readers! Ever heard of mind-maps? Wondering how to use them in your classes, even online? Let's dive in!

    A mind map, which is a graphical representation, is composed of a central theme and thinking of new and related ideas which radiate out from the center. Recalling and retaining the information can be provided with mind maps on most of the lectures. By looking at the key ideas/words and the connection between them, students can visualize whatever he wants. So, it will be beneficial for internalizing the lecture topics and details easily. It can be both on paper and web environments.

    You can find as many mind map sites as you want! Canva, MindMeister, FreeMind, Popplet, LucidChart, Scapple, Bubbl.us, and MindManager are some examples to these websites. If you ask my choice, it is “Canva”. With the Canva platform, you can create various mind maps on any topic. It is easier to use, just log in and start your work. When you search “mind map” on site, there will be numerous templates to work on. You will handle it easily & quickly without help.

    In my work, "Learning Theories Timeline" is the center of the map. It is divided into decades, and then to the years. You can see the theories and their pioneers from 60's to 2020.

    You can customize it as you wish, and you can put your lesson plan and schedule it on the board. You can add notes, videos, images, and many virtual materials you want to present to the lecture. It is suitable for sharing on social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.

    You can make the students use their creativity by doing brainstorming. Before the lesson, students can share what they know about the subject, and at the end of the lesson, Padlet will be an effective tool to understand how much information they have acquired.
